We are the Race participants! The real and official Race. And in the same time accessible & safe. Is it possible to entry the Race with training session, qualification & 2 race rounds for 500 euro only (including scooter & ammunition purchase & registration fee)? Not? YES!!!!
Sankt-Peterburg’s Scooter and Pitbike Championship
Participants of this competition in the simplest class "Stock" have such possibility. Thanks to organizers, sponsors and motosport federation. Thr idea of Championship establishment is just brilliant! I'd earlier thought karting is most accessible discipline of all motorsport. That's not true at all. Even simplest rides on rental karting club will be more expensive than official event of Sankt-Peterburg's Championship.
Our 2013 year's aim is all 4 events participation. We're not yet the officially registered team. My scooter is just cheapest used machine and my driving skills are so far from ideal... But I believe that's beginning of something more. What we need now is experience of participation itself. We shall have needful conclusions further & see what would happen then. But now I have great wish to be on racing track again and go deep to atmosphere of holiday of speed
Our personal thanks to Artur Yamakov for organisation, meeting and real help at boxes.
Official report on topspb.tv Результаты 1го этапа
19 May 2013 was the real holiday. This day the first stage of Sankt-Peterburg's Scooter and Pitbike Championship was held.
But for us all had begun much earlier with scooter buying 2 weeks before. That was unique adventure because of night roaming and searching the hidden settlement in Sankt-Peterburg suburbs where the scooter was then. Anyway we'd successfully bought it for about 125 euros & transported it to our garage. 12 of May we bought helmet, ammunition (250 euros for all) and spare parts - plastic covers, locks, accumulator (75 euros for all).
Saturday 18th me and Anna were in the garage all the day. We'd unmounted all the outer details from scooter, made some repearings and then mounted all on places. Everything was ok. Scooter's (it's name is "ABM Storm") engine was successfully launched and it was completely ready about AM 01:30.
Sunday AM 05:00 we woke up and went to the track.
Up to AM 10:00 i 'd finished with all the registration procedures an went on track - training had begun! I'd been falling 2 times during the training session. Without negative, except a little bit scratched plastic.
During the training I understood that the speed difference between me and other racers is... just terrific My max speed at longest line was 50kmh (normal for my 50cc stock scooter). While the others run with average speed about 75!
After session It became clear.
Two classes Stock & Open was united in one race, because of the event had 2 stock racers only!!! I drove together with guys on 150cc scooters including self-made racing constructions! Qualification shows that my time is 0:49 while the guys had 0:35. Another guy of my stock class rides on racing 50cc machine that was even faster than usual 150cc!
In race I had 1 aim only - reach finish line trying to go off the optimal trajectory to not prevent faster races. Naturally I had driven under constant blue flag.
But I did it!!!!!!!!
My scooter survived and I'm not the last in final classification (one guy's scooter had brocken and he is the last). But the most pleasant thing is that I was on Podium.
Yes. We was just 2 in Stock. And that's why I've got 2nd place. There was champain, medal, Cup, and prizes. And honestly said I'm happy. That's a victory over myself. Cause I realized my dream. And because of all the things we made together with my Anna to make it real.
