The main feature of RF 3.01 is its backbone frame. Continuing the RockFoxie traditions we made it structural, combined of steel sheet and steel tubes. Hatching is just decoration, no carbon will be used.
Frame building process.
The image above shows the construction as it is. Backbone is welded of steel plates (made by laser cutting) from 2mm steel sheet. Tenons and grooves on plates (that could be seen on the backbone sides) help to set the details to certain places. Tubular frame consists of 2 types of tubes: 60x30x3 and 30x30x3. There are no complex angles of tube cutting, so everything should go nice!
Frame characteristics
Specially formed holes in plates reduce the weight, not affecting the strength. The weight of the whole frame including backbone & tubular parts is 14,85 kg..
Frame design
Frame designed to be the most significant part of racing scooter outlook. Only coverage of frame's steel is small nose cowl, central cowl (top of the frame between seat and steering column) and the seat itself.
Hatching is just decoration, no carbon will be used.
RockFoxie and scooters
The racing scooter should be RockFoxie. That means it should conserve the main principles we base on projecting all the previous projects. However it's not a car, even not a trike, it's still RockFoxie. May be it has evenmore RF DNA then all the older versions combined together!
